The bed bug is an insect from the genus Cimex that feed on human blood,usually at night.
Their bites result in a number of health impacts like skin rashes,itching of the body,and other physiological effects and allergic symptoms.

Bed bug bites are caused primarily by two species of inscects majorly Cimex lectularius (the common bed bug) and Cimex hemipterus .
Their size ranges between 1 and 7 mm.
An individual bedbug can lay up to 200 or 250 eggs in her lifetime. An adult female bed bug produces about one egg per day and it takes 10 days to hatch and another five to six weeks for the offspring to develop into an adult.

Bedbugs has a lifespan of about 2 to 4 months.
Bedbugs mate through a process called traumatic insemination,as the female lacks a genital opening,the male Pierces her abdomen with his hypodermic genitalia to leave his sperm in her abdominal cavity.
Bedbugs only need to mate once in every six weeks to eight weeks. They don't need to mate Everytime to lay eggs.
Bedbugs can go without feeding for 20 to 40 days depending on temperature and humidity.
Bed bugs can crawl rapidly at a speed of 3 to 4 feet's per minute,which is 0.045 miles per hour.
Bedbugs lay eggs in mattresses and furniture because this place offers safety , darkness and are close to their host.They can also lay eggs around cracks on the wall and baseboards and floorboards.
Bedbugs enters the house through unused furnitures ,luggages,purses and other items placed on upholstered surface.

The lifecycle of a bed bug
In order to kill bed bugs in our houses we can apply high temperature of steam of about 100 degree celcius to the Tufts of mattresses ,along with sofa seams,bed frames and corner or edges where bed bugs they might have hidden in the house.
They can also get killed by applying insecticides to the sofa seams,bed frames ,and all the corners of where that might have hidden.
