What I learnt from brother Eli's video
The cross is not a symbol of Christianity,the situation whereby people are hanged to death on a tree has been in existence before the creation of Christianity.
The book of Deuteronomy chapter 21 vs 22 says that if a man has a committed a sin worthy of death,may he be put to death and thou hang him on a tree.
The Egyptians get burnt with fire whenever the commit a grieve sin.
The book of Leviticus chapter 2 vs 14 which says if a man takes a wife and her mother ,it is wickedness:they shall be burnt with fire,both he and they,that there be no wickedness amongst you.
The Israelites punish people who commit grieve sins by stoning them to death,or by sentencing them to death by hanging.
The situation of people been hanged to a tree also happened to our Lord Jesus Christ in the bible when the Israelites ordered for him to be crucified even when they knew he wasn't guilty.
The book of Galatians chapter 3 vs 13 says that Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, which has been made a curse for us,for it is written that curse thou who is hanged on a tree.
Jesus died for us to be free from our sins,he suffered his hand to be punished to redeem us from the curse of the law which is the death penalty.
According to the Bible , the sign of the cross is not a sign of Christianity but rather a sign of curse .
The Catholic teaching tells that the symbol of the cross is the most powerful weapon to fight against Satan ,and that it protects us from been attacked by our enemies.
So in a nutshell,the crucifix is a sign of curse acocording to the bible and so therefore should not be placed in the church.
