Today,I would be participating in the @ecotrain qotw for the week which says "Which technologies has had a positive influence on you?
Modern technology has changed our lives in countless ways, revolutionizing how we work,live and play. We need technology in our everyday life as it helps us to have easy access to information ,better communication means, improved banking and so on.
Which technology has had a positive influence on your life.
The first technology that has had a positive influence on me is the Internet.The internet has transformed education.It has enabled better presentation of information,making the process of teaching easier and more effective. Online education has provided unprecedented learning opportunities to people all over the world. Lectures and lessons can be uploaded to websites in written or video form, making information more accessible. All of the information you want is available and accessible everyday, thanks to the World Wide Web.
How has the internet had a positive influence on me?
My final exams (W.A.E.C) happen to fall in April last year which happens to be the time we had to leave school to our different home due to the coronavirus pandemic.So during this period of time we had series of online classes whereby our teachers taught us some certain things online.I could remember we were at home for atleast 4 months ,the internet really helped me alot during this period as I was able to gather more information and prepare well for the exams.The lockdown ended and we were back in school by August,I sat for these exams which also started in August and I passed excellently well,Thanks to the internet.
A sphygmomanometer
Another technology that has had a positive influence on me is the Sphygmomanometer.This is a device used to measure blood pressure, composed of an inflatable rubber cuff to collapse and then release the artery under the cuff in a controlled manner,and a Mercury or aneroid manometer to measure the pressure.
How has the sphygmomanometer had a positive influence on me?
My mum is in her early sixties now and she tends to have some health problems so she happens to have developed high blood pressure.The doctors were able to detect this through the sphygmomanometer and then they could prescribe drugs to help control or regulate it. If probably there wasn't a sphygmomanometer to detect she has high blood pressure,then she might have lost her life or developed heart attack ,stroke or other complications.
